Bruce and Grace Henderson, 1982
The Henderson family traces its insurance roots back six generations to 1878.
The number one scourge of pioneers was fire. Almost every community had a tale of their “Great Fire”. The loss of a house or barn would mean disaster for those who toiled long and hard to clear the land and establish a farm in the wilderness.
In 1878 a group of farmers met in Kintore and founded East and West Nissouri and West Zorra Mutual Insurance Company. Adam Henderson was the founding president. The following three generations of Hendersons were also presidents including Bruce. Bruce then started a brokerage in 1957. Bruce’s son, Paul, joined the brokerage in 1980. Bruce’s son in-law, John Yost, started in 1992 and the brokerage was renamed to Henderson Yost Insurance.

Outside of work Paul can be found in the tractor, singing bass in the Chalmers church choir and doting over his two granddaughters, Anna and Maggie.
John Henderson

John was born and raised in the business and basically eats and breathes insurance. He’s always just a phone call away and is always happy to answer questions. He has an extensive knowledge of many areas of insurance, including agricultural insurance, and, being a farmer himself is always up for a chat about how the crops are fairing or the latest farming machinery.
John lives around the corner from the Henderson Yost office with his wife Caitlin and baby daughter, Maggie.
Kim McMullen

Kim has been an integral part of Henderson Yost for 20 years and during this time she has gained expertise particularly assisting drivers who have factors that have put them into a high risk category for insurance. Kim happily assists her clients in finding the most affordable rates for them.
When she’s not in the office Kim can be found on long walks with her small dog Sophie or camping in her Airstream camper.
Brandon Boyd

Brandon joined the Henderson Yost team in 2020, but brings with him seven years of broker experience in the surrounding area. St. Marys born and raised along with his wife, Claire, Brandon can usually be found at the arena when he isn’t looking after what matters most to clients. He enjoys serving as President of the St. Marys Lincolns Jr B Hockey Club, volunteering for St. Marys Minor Hockey and engaging with the local business community.
